City of Bayard, Nebraska, is seeking a full-time Utilities Technician. Bayard is 2^nd class city with a population of 1,126 and is located in scenic Western Nebraska, 3 miles north of Chimney Rock. The position is responsible for maintenance of the city owned streets as well as electrical, water, and waste water systems.  A High school diploma or GED is required. Electrical or Water certification preferred but willing to train the right candidate. Must possess, or be able to obtain, a Nebraska Class B driver’s license, a Nebraska Grade 4 Water Operator Certificate, and a Wastewater Operator’s Class L Certificate. Experience with heavy equipment including but not limited to, front-end loader, backhoe, and street sweeper is also beneficial. Salary is commensurate to experience.
